UIN Online - Culture is a way of life that developed in a group of people and passed down from generation to generation. As time advances, the local culture gradually eroded. This is the background of a number of youths who are members of Mandar Culture and Tourism Community Activists (compa Dance) Makassar region to conduct Kuliwa (thanksgiving celebration). Makassar, Thursday (02/06).
The event held on February 4 in Mandar monument (Losari beach) was followed by students from various institutions and universities. They are, from Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN Alauddin), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), State University of Makassar (UNM), University of West Sulawesi (Unsulbar), and some private universities of Makassar .
Arrassyid, a member of Dance compa, admitted that he was grateful and thankful to build Mandar icon in Losari beach. "My great gratitude to Makassar government who has made it and it tightened our friendship as well. In addition, I expected that this activity could generate the cultural awareness to many youths," expected by the man working as designer.
In line with Arrasyid, Tommuane also stated that he was very happy and grateful to the municipal government of South Sulawesi, he thought that although Mandar had been administratively separated, the local government of South Sulawesi still permitted the establishment of mandar monument.
"I hope more societies, especially the youths are able to know the tour and culture in their own country," he added.
