English Language and Literature Students Explore Viral Content Production Strategies

MAKASSAR — Students of the English Language and Literature Study Program at Alauddin State Islamic University of Makassar conducted an educational visit to the editorial office of Herald Indonesia located on Topaz Raya Street, IDI Complex, Makassar, on Tuesday (May 19, 2026).

The activity was organized to provide students with insights into content production strategies in the digital era while introducing them to the workflow of modern mass media.

The students, who are enrolled in the English Journalistic course, were warmly welcomed by the editorial team of Herald Indonesia. During the visit, participants received presentations on the process of digital news production, including issue planning, news writing techniques, social media management, and content distribution strategies aimed at reaching wider audiences.

Operational Director of Herald Indonesia, Aswad Syam, emphasized that content creation strategies have become increasingly important amid the rapid growth of digital media.

“Content creation strategies are essential in the digital era. Today’s media are not only expected to deliver information quickly, but also to present content that is engaging, creative, and relevant to audience needs,” he stated.

According to him, technological advancement has significantly transformed the way people consume information. Therefore, both media institutions and younger generations need to understand how to package information effectively without neglecting the fundamental principles of journalism.

In addition to attending the presentations, the students also participated in interactive discussions regarding the challenges faced by digital media, strategies to expand readership, and career opportunities in the creative and modern journalism industries.

The activity was conducted interactively and enthusiastically, with students actively asking questions about digital media and content production in the era of rapid technological development.
